When to use Excel to PDF

Use it to send a spreadsheet to someone who should read the numbers but not change them, or to attach a report where the recipient may not have Excel. Every sheet in the workbook is included. Very wide sheets are the thing to watch - a sheet wider than a page splits across pages, so set a print area or scaling in Excel first if the layout matters.

Troubleshooting

A wide sheet is chopped across several pages

Set the print area, switch to landscape, or use Fit to Width in Excel before converting - page setup is read from the file.

Formula results show as errors

Errors already stored in the sheet are rendered as-is. Fix them in Excel first; nothing is recalculated during conversion.

The upload is rejected before anything happens

The file is over the 20 MB cap. Compress it first, or split a long PDF into smaller files and process them separately.
