How the downloader works
Paste a link and we resolve it to the direct media URL the platform is already serving, then stream that data through to your browser. In the standard path the file is never written to our disks - it passes through and is gone. There is no queue, no email, and no "your download will start in 30 seconds" countdown.
Two options work differently because they have to. Trimming to a range and extracting MP3 audio both process the file on our servers before sending it, so they take longer and the result is stored temporarily, then permanently deleted an hour later - the same rule that applies to uploaded files.
What you can and cannot download
Only public content works. If a video needs a login to view - a private account, a closed Facebook group, a protected profile on X - it cannot be fetched, and no downloader that claims otherwise is doing something you want to be part of.
Availability also varies by platform and changes over time. These sites actively work to block this kind of tool, and when one changes how its media is served we switch that downloader off rather than serve broken files. YouTube is off by default for exactly this reason. MP3 audio is available at 192 kbps from any supported source.
Download responsibly
Save content you have the right to keep: your own uploads, material released under a permissive licence, or anything the rights holder has allowed you to save.
