When to use Word to PDF
Convert to PDF when you want the document to look identical everywhere and not be casually edited - job applications, invoices, anything going to a print shop. Conversion runs through LibreOffice, which handles standard Word layout faithfully. Documents leaning on very unusual fonts or Windows-only features can reflow slightly, so check the result before sending it somewhere that matters.

Troubleshooting
Fonts look different in the PDF
A font not installed on the server is substituted with the closest match. Embedding the font in the DOCX, or using a common font, avoids it.
Page breaks moved
Font substitution changes text metrics slightly, which can push a line onto the next page. Check the result if exact pagination matters.
The upload is rejected before anything happens
The file is over the 20 MB cap. Compress it first, or split a long PDF into smaller files and process them separately.
