When to use the SoundCloud downloader
For saving a publicly streamable track - your own uploads, a DJ set the artist has made freely available, or anything you have permission to keep - for offline listening. Only tracks that play without logging in can be fetched. If you like the artist, buying through official channels does far more for them than a download does.

Troubleshooting
A track you can play while logged in will not download
It is private or subscriber-only. Only publicly streamable tracks can be fetched.
You expected MP3 and got something else
The track arrives in its published format. Use Video to MP3 if you specifically need an MP3.
You get a rate-limit message
Uploads are capped at 20 per hour per IP address, with 3 running at once. Wait for the hour to roll over, or let the running jobs finish.
