When to use the X / Twitter downloader
For saving a video from a public post before it is deleted or the account goes private - which on X happens often enough to matter. Link to the post containing the video, not to a profile, a search page or a quote-tweet. Protected accounts cannot be fetched.

Troubleshooting
The link is rejected
Point it at the post that holds the video. Profile, search and list URLs have no video attached to extract.
A quote-tweet will not resolve
Use the link to the original post containing the video rather than the quote.
You get a rate-limit message
Uploads are capped at 20 per hour per IP address, with 3 running at once. Wait for the hour to roll over, or let the running jobs finish.
