When to use Rotate PDF

The classic fix for a scan that came out sideways or upside down. Rotating in a PDF reader usually only changes the view; this writes the rotation into the file, so it stays fixed for everyone who opens it. You can rotate individual pages independently, which matters for mixed-orientation scans.

Specifications & limits

Rotation steps
90 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise, per page or all pages
Persistence
Written into the file, not a view setting
Quality
Lossless - pages are not re-rendered, only reoriented
Accepted input
PDF only (.pdf)
Maximum pages
50 pages per PDF
File retention
Deleted from our servers 1 hour after upload

Troubleshooting

The rotation looks doubled

Each page is re-read from the source for every export, so rotations do not compound. If it looks doubled, the source page already carried a rotation flag.

Rotation does not stick in your reader

Make sure you downloaded the exported file rather than rotating the view in your PDF reader.

The upload is rejected before anything happens

The file is over the 20 MB cap. Compress it first, or split a long PDF into smaller files and process them separately.

Frequently asked questions

Yes - each page has its own rotate controls, so you can fix a single sideways scan without touching the rest.
